Rest #11: Who is this Jesus to Whom we are Yoked?

Updated: Nov 30, 2020

Matt 11:28-30 (NASB) 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Today I want us to look at who exactly is this Jesus to whom we are yoked?

Look at the clock. Whatever hour of the day you are reading this, go to that chapter in the gospel of John (e.g., if you are reading this at 9:15 am or pm, go to John chapter 9).

Read the entire chapter with these questions in mind: Who does Jesus say He is and/or Who does Jesus demonstrate by His actions that He is?

Likely there is more than one answer in whatever chapter you are reading! What ONE thing stands out to you the most? What ONE aspect of Jesus in that chapter is most important to your heart today?

Turn that into your breath prayer for the day: “Jesus is…..my rescuer” (or whatever is appropriate).

Blessings!
